Van Meter's roots are in Cedar Rapids - and they have been since 1928, which is when we first opened our doors. Company founders R.L. Van Meter and R.W. Lemley outfitted Van Meter's headquarters with fluorescent lighting, making it the very first building west of the Mississippi to ever incorporate this technological feature. Today, our headquarters office and service center are situated on the north side of 32nd Avenue while our Central Distribution Center and sales counter - along with our indoor drive-through service area - are all directly across the street on the south side of 32nd Avenue. Our Cedar Rapids serves as the hub for the 800+ product lines we carry. Nearly everything is in stock; if it isn't, we can get it for you quickly.

Van Meter's Iowa City electrical supply branch - known as one of our most energy-efficient locations - was built in 2011, is LEED certified, and serves as a showcase of the products we carry to support green building efforts. As with many of our other branches, you'll find nearly all of our automation, datacomm, electrical, energy, lighting, medium-voltage, and outside plant solutions here. Our drive-through service helps reduce the amount of time you have to spend picking up product orders. We also have dedicated space for onsite customer training and education (much of which qualifies for electrical CEUs). Look for us across from the Iowa City Municipal Airport on Rupport Road.

We serve all industries and offer all major product lines at our electrical supply branch in Muscatine, which is at the intersection of Cedar Street/Highway 22 and Highway 61 near Fuller Park. As part of our commitment to giving back to the communities around us, our employees in Muscatine support organizations like the Muscatine Food Pantry, the Special Olympics, and Rebuilding Together Muscatine County. We're also a proud member of the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Our new facility - built in 2013 - was designed to follow LEED conservation practices for energy efficiency. We support efficiency for our customers, too, with a drive-through service area that lets you pick up online or phone orders in a hurry.

Our Waterloo branch is the first location we established outside of Cedar Rapids - and we're still located in the same spot today. Since 1973, we've been serving construction, commercial, industrial, integrators, and OEMs from our Courier Street location. Not far from The Hippodrome (formerly the McElroy Auditorium at the National Cattle Congress Grounds), we share a parking lot with Culligan Water Systems off of Highway 218 and Ansborough Avenue. We have lighting and datacomm specialists available to answer your questions and help you find what you need. No need to make an appointment - you can walk right in and talk to any of our experts! We also hold monthly educational sessions to provide the training and CEUs you and your staff need.
