Oaknoll, located in Iowa City, Iowa, offers independent and assisted living services to elderly residents. The center is a licensed and skilled intermediate nursing care facility that addresses the physical needs of residents. It provides transportation to residents for doctors appointments or shopping. Its health center consists of more than 30 licensed beds for skilled nursing care and over 15 beds licensed for intermediate care. Oaknoll offers 24-hour emergency nursing care, local telephone service with voice mail, lawn and grounds care, janitorial and maintenance services and scheduled activities and programs. Additionally, it provides laundry facilities, 20 meals a month and has an answering service and receptionist.

Friendship Village is retirement community for individuals aged 60 and above, and is located in Waterloo, Iowa. It has more than 400 senior citizens utilizing living in over 300 apartments and cottages. It offers facilities, including common areas, a chapel, grounds and an on-site health center. It provides services, such as laundry, window washing, snow removal, maintenance of the buildings and grounds, and shuttle bus service for shopping, professional appointments, worship services and entertainment. It also has barbershop and woodworking shop, and activity and exercise rooms. It provides one meal daily in the central dining area. It offers activities, such as woodworking, billiards, painting, crafts and shuffleboard. The apartments have facilities of a kitchen, bathroom, heating and air conditioning, closet space and smoke- and fire-detection system. The emergency call signals are linked to the health center.
