Shawna Swain, PA-C

Kaitie Worley, PA-C joined The Iowa Clinic Gastroenterology department because of the high quality, patient-centered care and the philanthropic culture. For Kaitie, she chose gastroenterology because of the many vital functions it serves in our daily lives and allows her to help patients return to feeling like the best and healthiest versions of themselves. Giving her patients a safe space to share their health concerns and develop a treatment plan to help them feel better is one of the most rewarding parts of her job. An Iowa native, Kaitie still resides in Des Moines with her husband and daughter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outside, trying new restaurants, reading, and supporting Drake athletics. If she was not a provider, she might have been a yoga instructor.

Danielle Petersen, PA-C joined The Iowa Clinic Orthopaedics department in 2025 after being drawn to its provider-owned, multidisciplinary structure that supports a patient-centered approach to care. She chose orthopaedic surgery after experiencing two ACL tears as an athlete, giving her a unique understanding of the challenges patients face during surgery and rehabilitation. For Danielle, the most rewarding part of her job is building strong connections with her patients and supporting them through their treatment journeys to improve their quality of life.
