Orthopedics is an exciting field with continual development of new treatments and technology. It gives Dr. Scherb an opportunity to work with patients of all ages and perform a wide variety of procedures focused on different parts of the body. He enjoys the process of directly restoring function to another human being. He relishes the continual refinement in surgical techniques and treatment methods for helping patients to a better quality of life.Dr. Scherb gives his patients ample opportunity to explain their problems, concerns and hopes, encouraging them to be active participants in their care and advocate for their own best health. It leads to good outcomes when patients are better-educated and more active in their own healthcare decisions. He is a willing listener and tenacious about identifying the cause of a problems even when it is not readily apparent.

Dr. Thomas grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas and attended college at the University of Tulsa, where he majored in biology. After college, he went Oklahoma State University where he completed the DO-MBA program. He completed Internal Medicine Residency at The University of Oklahoma in Tulsa and is currently serving as the Co-Chief Cardiology Fellow at MercyOne North Iowa. He enjoys the variety a career in cardiology has to offer, although he has found that the most rewarding part of the job is performing procedures in the catheterization lab. The thrill of taking someone with a severe heart attack, in terrible pain to the cath lab, revascularizing them, and seeing them return to their life afterwards is incredibly gratifying. For this reason, he plans to continue training in Interventional Cardiology at Texas AM College of Medicine, Baylor Scott White Medical Center in Temple, TX. He enjoys exercising, outdooractivities, traveling, and spending time with his wife and three young children.

Dr. Goettel has always had a strong desire to help others and to work building up acommunity. Becoming a physician provided her a way to pursue these ambitions.She strives to connect with patients, understanding not only their medicalcondition but also their personal goals. Dr. Goettel realizes an individual'swell-being is not solely dependent on one factor but rather encompasses allaspects of a person's life. That is why her aim is to partner with patients tocollaboratively improve their health. She enjoys practicing as a familymedicine provider because it provides her with the privilege to interact with abroad spectrum of patients, ranging in age and issues. She is very appreciativethat she can spend each day doing work that she loves.
