The Reverend George B Hitchcock House earned the distinction of being a National Historic Landmark in 2006. The House is also on the Register of National Historic Places, & a site on the National Park Service Network to Freedom. In 1856 Rev. Hitchcock oversaw the building of this Federal Style home, using locally sourced sandstone, limestone, walnut, & oak. Much of the home is original. The House is now a living history museum.
