Every business day, more than 2,100 prescription orders roll off the assembly line at Pech Optical located in Sioux City, Iowa. Pech Optical handles uncut lenses, cut and edged lenses, frames and quality sun wear lines in plano and prescription lenses. Along with producing lenses, frames and accessories, the company also provides marketing services, lens displays and travel programs for optical groups. Pech Optical is a testing lab for the new Optronics 7EA edger. The three-axis auto load patternless edger has the ability to process all plastic lenses with exceptional accuracy and speed. The 7EA automated edging system is designed with a dedicated pick and place assembly unit for each edger. Using a pneumatic cup, the arm picks up the lens from its tray and places it in the edger. The edger quickly drills accurate, clean and chatter-free holes in all plastic. Pech Optical has been in operation since 1989.
