History

Let me introduce myself, My name is Dan Nelson and I am third generation Nelson to run Nelson Auto Electric. Nelson Auto Electric is an Outdoor Power Equipment sales and service store. Nelson Auto Electric first started in 1953 when my Grandfather, Ed Nelson, repaired car and truck starters and generators (hence Auto Electric). Along with that he also repaired small engines on lawn mowers and chain saws. Over the years many things have changed. As a kid I recall selling product lines such as Snapper, Ariens, Lawn boy, Toro, Homelite, McCulloch, Shindawia In 1984 my dad, Richard Nelson, took on the STIHL line of hand power tools. New just this year I have added the Troy-built line of garden tillers, lawn vacuums, and chipper shedders. Now that many companies have either, been bough, sold, or gone over seas, we have narrowed our product line to the higher quality products, such as Toro, Stihl, and Troy-built. While my dad still dose starter and generators, it is becoming a lost art.
