Blank Children s Hospital, located in Des Moines, Iowa, is a family-centered healing and teaching hospital. The hospital is a Level 1 trauma center that has an emergency department and pediatric emergency medicine physicians on staff 24-hours, seven-days a week. In addition, it has specially trained nurses, child life specialists, radiologists, and respiratory therapists. It also offers services in the field of cancer care. The hospital has an intensive care nursery, which is a Level 3 neonatal nursery that offers private rooms. It also features play areas for patients and siblings on every floor. Blank Children's Hospital has established the Center for Advocacy and Outreach, a statewide resource for education and information regarding children's issues.
