Lauridsen Skatepark, opened on May 7, 2021, in Des Moines, IA, is proudly recognized as the largest skatepark in the nation, spanning 88,000 square feet. Strategically located at the north end of the Principal Riverwalk beside the Des Moines River, this modern facility showcases Olympic-caliber park and street courses, featuring exciting elements like a promenade flow bowl and a skateable art piece entitled WOW.
The skatepark's design thoughtfully incorporates the area’s topography and water table, enhancing the overall experience for skaters. Recently completed, the adjacent parking lot accommodates approximately 100 vehicles, complete with automatic closing gates and landscaping, ensuring a convenient and safe environment for all visitors.
