The Freedom Rock, established in 1999 and located in rural Iowa, is a large boulder that is repainted annually to honor the nation's veterans. Artist Ray "Bubba" Sorensen II, inspired by the film "Saving Private Ryan," dedicates his time to this project with the support of family and friends, ensuring that each mural serves as a unique tribute to those who have served the country.

In addition to the original Freedom Rock, Sorensen has created a Freedom Rock in each of Iowa's 99 counties, promoting the message of gratitude across the state. He has also launched the 50 State Freedom Rock Tour, expanding his mission to recognize veterans nationwide through art.
