The Hobo Museum in Britt, Iowa, celebrates the rich history of hobos, migratory workers who traveled across America to meet labor demands after the Civil War. Since 1900, Britt has hosted the National Hobo Convention, supported by the non-profit Hobo Day Association, which organizes an annual festival featuring a parade, entertainment, and arts and crafts.
The highlight of the festivities is the election of the King and Queen of the Hobos, along with a vibrant hobo jungle where crafts are sold and free entertainment is provided. Visitors can also explore the Hobo Memorial Cemetery, the final resting place of many steam era hobos, and view authentic hobo artifacts at the National Hobo Museum.
