Hunt Cleaners, Inc began production in 1951 as a small retail dry cleaner in Cozad, Nebraska. In the early 1960s we expanded our services to include the cleaning of industrial products and have since become an exclusively industrial operation. We clean many products including gloves, shop towels, print towels, cotton and Kevlar sleeves, welding apparel, aprons, bulk bags, and dust filter bags. In an effort to find gloves most suitable for cleaning, we expanded our business into the sale of new gloves. Over time, the variety of products we carry multiplied. Today our inventory of personal protective equipment encompasses the latest in hand protection, hearing protection, eye protection, protective apparel, disposable apparel, and respirators. As Hunt Cleaners acquired accounts throughout the United States and the demand for our products and services grew, so did we. In 1998 we opened a second facility in Newton, Iowa. The addition of this plant more than doubles our cleaning capacity. It also doubles the amount of waste we prevent, through our distillation process, from being dumped into landfills. During cleaning, waste byproducts are extracted from your soiled items. We utilize the service of a nationally known waste disposal company for transportation of the still bottoms to an EPA permitted waste disposal site. Once there, the waste is burned in a high temperature incineration process. By cautiously handling the still bottoms, we greatly reduce your cradle to grave waste liability. We continued our commitment to environmentally conscious practices when we once again expanded operations. In November 2004 we celebrated the completion of a brand new facility in Cozad. This new plant surpasses our old one in size, productivity and safety measures. It also allows us to better serve customer needs.
