Youth Emergency Services & Shelter, also known as YESS, provides emergency shelter, crisis care, counseling and respite services for children. Its emergency shelter serves runaway, abused, homeless and troubled children in the age group of 10 to 17 years. The agency s crisis nursery offers child abuse intervention and prevention programs. Located in Des Monies, Iowa, the agency works with various schools, hospitals, child welfare units and other social agencies to meet the needs of children and their families. Its counselors conduct individual, group and family sessions on personal and professional issues. Youth Emergency Services & Shelter is funded by government grants, private donations and corporate gifts.
