Stadia Sports Medicine is Des Moines' original Sports Medicine practice, founded in 2006. We make injured people better and return them to the types of activities that their current injury is preventing them from doing. We do this by combining top-notch physical therapists and Sports Medicine physician services under one roof, integrating treatment to improve patient outcomes. We also provide the latest in innovative treatment approaches and were the first clinic in the greater Des Moines area to utilize the ASTYM technique. Our goal is always to go beyond rehabilitation and assist patients toward performance enhancement. Our physical therapy staff is skilled in post-operative rehab for ACL repair, rotator cuff repair, hip impingement surgery, joint replacement and more. We also utilize inspiratory muscle training in select patients such as triathletes or other endurance athletes to promote core stability and improved endurance performance. Dr. Carlson is Des Moines' original Sports Medicine physician and is the most experienced orthopedic/Sports Medicine clinician in Des Moines in the use of in-office ultrasound for diagnostic and procedural purposes.
