Des Moines Fire Station 1

The Des Moines Fire Department is administered by the city government of Des Moines in Iowa. The department provides fire protection, emergency medical and related services. The Des Moines Fire Department operates various fire stations and maintains a fleet of fire engines, trucks, and paramedic staffed ambulances and engine companies. Its fire prevention bureau conducts fire inspections in commercial buildings and issues certificate of occupancy permits and city and state licenses. The fire department is also responsible for conducting general fire safety inspections and installing and removing underground and aboveground storage tanks. In addition, the Des Moines Fire Department coordinates a range of fire education programs in schools, churches and other public venues.
