The Des Moines Metropolitan Transit Authority provides safe, reliable and cost effective transportation services that meet the needs of its community. It offers a complete family of transportation services to provide access to jobs, schools and the greater Des Moines community. The Transit Authority s buses also cover the cities of Des Moines, Clive, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights. In addition, its commuter routes serve Altoona and Ankeny. Its fleet of 90 buses travels more than 15,000 miles throughout the Des Moines area daily making trips to shopping malls, major business districts, residential areas and schools. The Transit Authority s Vanpool Program has a fleet of full-size passenger vans and minivans that are used by groups of five to 15 commuters for trips to and from work. Its Paratransit service provides demand response transportation service to senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
