Located in Rockwell City, Iowa, Calhoun County Department of Health provides home, environmental, and community services, including community education, expanding and developing required services, and improving existing ones. Its community health needs assessment and health improvement plan initiative is a reporting process that assists communities across Iowa in communicating their community health needs and planning initiatives. It also offers adult health programs that foster optimal health and wellness for people 50 years of age and above. The department also offers health education programs to groups on a variety of topics, such as calcium counts, vitamins, herbs and exercise. It also offers various homemaker services, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, parenting skill instruction, personal care, and budget management. The department also provides professional registered nurses that offer health education and assessment, medication management, blood pressure and sugar screening, wound care and dressing changes, infusion therapy, and case management.
