Design Engineers was founded in 1983 as a sole proprietorship and incorporated in 1986 by Ron Foster. The initial staff of four has grown to thirty-two today. Amy Infelt joined the firm in 1989, has been a principal since 1999 and now serves as managing principal leading the marketing efforts and overseeing the administrative functions. After joining the firm in 1993, Dwight Schumm became a principal in 2001 and currently serves as managing principal and mechanical department manager. Jim Russell returned to Design Engineers in 2003, became a principal in 2005 and manages the electrical department. Our personnel are constantly reviewing products and systems available so each project is designed using the equipment best suited for that application.
