Childserve Childcare Center

The ChildServe Childcare Center serves children with special health care needs. It conducts classes that focus on the areas of individual skills development, compassion and understanding. The center is a part of ChildServe, which is a social welfare organization that offers respite care, case management, nursing assistance, and residential and community services. The organization annually serves more than 2,000 children in over 20 counties in central Iowa. Operational for nearly 80 years, ChildServe operates a transitional care unit that provides diet counseling, pharmacy and family support services, as well as organizes on-site dental visits. The organization offers therapeutic recreational and aquatics programs. It provides physical, occupational and speech therapies. The organization conducts prevocational training sessions. It operates various adaptive equipment shops that feature wheelchairs and positioning devices.
