Cedar Falls Utilities provides electricity, natural gas, water, high speed Internet and cable television services to a community of more than 37,000 people. The municipal Electric, Gas, Water and Communications Utilities are four separate enterprises, owned by the city of Cedar Falls and operated on a not-for-profit basis for community benefit.The Utilities are governed by a five-member Board of Trustees. The Trustees establish utility policies and rates, hire a general manager to oversee utility operations and approve the annual operating and capital budgets. CFU is organized into four strategic business units - Customer Services and Business Development, Operations, Finance and Organizational Services, and Employee and Legal Services.
