Broadway United Methodist Church

Broadway United Methodist, founded in 1866, is a historic downtown church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The church provides care on a continuing or short-term basis to elderly who live alone or who depend on a single care giver, to individuals with acute or chronic needs requiring in-home support and to families stricken by some catastrophic need, adversity or situation. Members from Broadway assist teachers at Washington Elementary School and also serve meals to homeless people. The church also provides non-food items to people in need and donates paper products, cleaning products, laundry supplies, diapers and personal hygiene supplies. Broadway has initiated special projects, such as Grow-A-Row, which raises money for the Food Resource Bank and it supports the United Methodist Committee on Relief, both financially and by assembling emergency kits.
