Anderson Erickson Dairy was the first dairy in the country to provide double safety-sealed packaging, package frozen yogurt for grocery sale and put the photos of missing children on milk cartons. Boyhood friends Iver Erickson and William Anderson founded Anderson Erickson Dairy in 1930. The two raised $15,000 to buy an existing Des Moines, Iowa, dairy, back in the days when the city contained 144 small neighborhood dairies. In 1938, Anderson returned to his home state of Minnesota to work and sold his share to Erickson, though the company continued doing business under the Anderson Erickson name. The company produces and provides milks, orange juices, lemonade, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, dips and ice cream.
