History

Acorn Antiques was really my mother's passion. I remember from a young age going on the hunt with my mom for treasures. She collected for over 45 years. She was very eclectic in her style and loved many different things. In fact she loved collecting so much that to keep purchasing she decided she would probably need to start selling some things.....so she and my father started selling antiques at shows in Des Moines years ago. I was a Social Worker living in Minnesota at the time. I would come help out at the booths and that's how I learned some about the business. After my mother could no longer do shows due to health issues I looked for two years for a store front. I so hoped she would be able to come to the store and continue to receive the joy she found in her antiquing experiences. Sadly that did not happen, however I am confident she is here with me in spirit and smiling every time someone loves something as much as she did!
