Yarmouth Police Department s mission statement is to prevent and suppress criminal activity through improved identification, apprehension and prosecution of offenders and the elimination or reduction of opportunities to commit crime. The department operates through units, such as the bicycle patrol unit, K-9 unit, Patrol unit, detective division and ceremonial unit. Patrol division is responsible for police patrol throughout the town of Yarmouth, Mass. It is the largest unit within the Yarmouth Police Department. The patrol division operates around the clock and performs a variety of functions, such as proactive police patrol, enforcement of law, traffic control and enforcement, crash investigation, homeland security and investigation of criminal complaints. Yarmouth Police Department is located in West Yarmouth, Mass.

The Hyannis Fire Department protects more than 25,000 people living in an area of more than 9 square miles. It operates out of one station that protects commercial areas. The department conducts regular inspections of homes for fire and safety hazards. Additionally, it offers a smoke detector program that includes providing free smoke detectors to residents. Its equipment includes pumpers and engines equipped with ladders, pump foam systems and generators. In addition, the Hyannis Fire Department offers rescue and emergency medical services against road accidents and natural disasters. It has fire and emergency medical service squads to provide services. The department is located in Hyannis, Mass.
