William Jeffrey Lowery, MD

Dr. Jon Cardinal specializes in the surgical management of both benign and malignant conditions of the liver, biliary tree, pancreas, gallbladder and GI tract. Dr. Cardinal is also available for second opinions to offer peace of mind or additional treatment options. Dr. Cardinal is a Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center participating provider. He has a special interest in metastatic colon cancer to the liver, liver tumors, pancreas tumors, pancreas cysts, bile duct strictures and abdominal and retroperitoneal masses, as well as gallbladder cancer, hepatocellular cancer, periampullary cancer, and duodenal cancer. Dr. Cardinal also offers robotic surgery, a less invasive approach, to patients when appropriate. Prior to joining Community Health Network, Dr. Cardinal was an associate professor and director of hepatobiliary surgical services in the division of surgical oncology at West Virginia University where he also served as the program director for the general surgery residency. Jon Cardinal, MD, received a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from Duquesne University. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University. He completed a general surgery internship/residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and also completed a research fellowship. Dr. Cardinal is a member of the American Board of Surgery and Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. In his spare time, Dr. Cardinal enjoys spending time with his wife, children and dogs. He and his family enjoy traveling as well as visiting with family and friends in Pittsburgh.

Dr. James Cripe specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of women with complex benign and malignant gynecologic diseases. He has a special interest in minimally invasive robotic surgeries and complex open debulking surgery for gynecologic cancers. Dr. Cripe is a Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center participating provider. Prior to joining Community, Dr. Cripe trained in Chicago, California, Philadelphia and St. Louis, providing a wealth of experience in his field. Dr. Cripe received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, followed by fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and gynecologic oncology. In his spare time, he enjoys exercise, reading, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Dr. Daniel Sonnenburg specializes in the diagnosis, and treatment of cancers and benign blood disorders. He has a special interest in female reproductive cancers, urology cancers and benign hematology. Dr. Sonnenburg is a Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center participating provider. Dr. Sonnenburg is a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology and Indiana State Medical Association. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, as well as watching sports, especially Purdue University and the Indianapolis Colts.
