Indiana Developmental Training Center, founded in 1997, provides treatment and education of children and young adults with developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances. It provides treatment for autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Tourette syndrome, pervasive developmental disorder, mental retardation, seizures, Asperqer s syndrome, intensive treatment needs, and Prader-Willi syndrome. Its social workers function as the children's primary therapists and case managers, responsible for providing individual psychotherapy, group therapy, family counseling and therapy, individualized behavior management plans, child management training, and staff education. IDTC s nationally recognized school programs are designed to educate children with special needs, and include academic instruction, physical education, occupational therapy, prevocational and vocational training, speech and language therapies, and independent living skills training. Its intensive treatment needs unit offers care, structure and supervision needed to provide treatment for dually diagnosed children who experience uncontrollable and unpredictable behaviors. The center has two sites in Indianapolis and Lafayette, Ind.
