Umesh Dyamenahalli, MD - Riley Pediatric Cardiology

Dr. Jin was the first recipient of Elkhart General Hospital's "Hey Doc You Rock" award in May 2014. He was the recipient of the Louis E. Zeil Scholorship Award from Covenant Health Care for Outstanding Junior Resident in 2002 and Chief Resident of the Department of Internal Medicine, Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine at the Saganaw Campus (now the Synergy Medical Education Alliance Program) in 2002-2003. He was Research Associate at the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School after receiving a PhD at the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics from the University of Toronto. He has authored many publications, including articles in highly respected journals such as Circulation, Nature and Nature Genetics, and chapters of books of treatment of bladder cancer and kidney cancer. He has been a member of the University of Chicago Medicine Hematopoietic Celular Therapy Physicians Advisory Board since 2016. Dr. Jin is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hemotology.

About Dr. Katona With expertise in trauma, general surgery and surgical critical care, Chad W. Katona, MD, has held related positions at hospitals and medical schools in Ohio, Indiana and Nevada. In addition, he has been an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery and a Clinical Instructor of General Surgery and Trauma Surgery. Dr. Katona earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, and a Doctor of Medicine degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN. He was a General Surgery Resident at Indiana University Department of General Surgery, followed by holding positions of Surgical Care Fellow and later an Acute Care Surgery Fellow at University of Nevada School of Medicine – Las Vegas, NV. During his career, Dr. Katona has served on hospital and educational committees, and given presentations and written articles, sharing his knowledge on procedures and practices.
