Transportation Department

The Indiana Department of Transportation, also known as INDOT, is governed by the state of Indiana. The department is responsible for planning, building, maintaining and operating transportation systems that enhance safety, mobility and economic growth. It manages a production management division that works to identify and address environmental needs, as well as provides aerial image products. The Indiana Department of Transportation also operates a research and development division that performs specialized testing and provides technical assistance. The department has a program development division that is responsible for the collection, analysis and reporting of traffic statistical data. In addition, it manages a program engineering division.
