An Authentic Experience! Inspired by traditional Egyptian cafés from seas away, The Egyptian Café and Hookah Bar opened in 2006 in Broad Ripple Village. Many elements are modeled off the most famous coffee shop in Egypt - "El Fishawy." This historic café is located in the Khan El-Khalili district in Old Cairo and has been running for 24 hours a day since its opening in 1773. Many generations of famous Egyptian artists and writers have frequented El-Fishawy. All furniture and hookah pipes in The Egyptian have been handmade and imported from Cairo, Egypt to give our customers the most authentic Egyptian experience possible. The Egyptian is a place where friends gather to relax and converse while smoking smooth, flavored tobacco from decorative water pipes, drinking delicious mint tea or Turkish coffee, eating great food, and enjoying a friendly game of backgammon.

I've been to the old location many times, the last time about 3 years ago. I live in Florida and after my initial visit, which I enjoyed, I was making it a ritual stop. In the past I went there...
