Only one of its kind left in the country! Visit America’s only restored 19th-century saddletree factory packed with unique and vintage belt-powered woodworking machines. Tours of the museum show how the Schroeder family business made saddletrees (the internal wooden frames of saddles), clothespins, and other products. Visitors will learn about the important industry and the skilled craftsmen who created the saddletrees for 98 years. Open May to October. All HMI tours are guided. Students and children are free.
