The Richmond City Police Department has several divisions that include community policing, crime lab, computer forensics, investigative services, patrol records division, traffic safety, water rescue team, youth services and K-9 patrol. The Richmond Police Department police lab is responsible for photographing, collecting, identifying, packaging and storing evidence from major crime scenes.
