Based in Wabash, Ind., Vernon Manor Children's Home is a nonprofit organization that provides services to children with developmental disabilities. It was established in 1968, and offers a variety of programs, activities and services. The hospital s services and facilities include skilled pediatric and geriatric facilities, mental retardation professionals, educational programs, in-house schooling for medically fragile children, and physical, occupational and speech therapy evaluations. Additionally, it offers on-site dental and ear tests, parent auxiliary group pharmaceutical services, and psychologists and behavioral consultants. Its programs include treatments for mild to severe learning disabilities, autism, sensory disabilities, emotional disturbances, dementia and visual impairments. The organization offers a wide variety of activities, such as circus, fairs, concerts, roller skating, camps, movies, music, swimming, shopping trips and boat rides. Vernon Manor Children s Home is a member of the Wabash Chamber of Commerce.
