Strides To Success

Strides to Success in a not-for-profit organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The mission of Strides to Success is to provide unique learning opportunities that strengthen and develop the lives of disadvantaged youth and youth with special needs. Programs and curriculum developed at Strides have been designed to give disadvantaged youth an opportunity to be successful through hands on activities. These activities allow youth to be fully engaged with their bodies and minds, in lieu of traditional classroom approaches, such as lectures. Strides programs and curriculum further engage youth by utilizing the field of Equine Assisted Learning ( EAL ). EAL uses the method of experiential learning while using the horse as a partner. The combination of teaching life skills alongside of academics helps these youth stay out of trouble, stay in school, and become successful and productive students. The farm setting and partnership with the horses allow youth to find their pathway to success in academics and in life. Strides to Success is proud to be a North American Riding for the Handicapped Association ( NARHA ) member certified center. NARHA sets program standards and safety guidelines for programs and certifies equine centers in the United States and Canada. Staff members have goen through certification training with the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association. All of the Leadership Program staff are certified equine assisted training specialists. Staff members are associated with the American Society for Training and Development. Strides to Success also offers consulting services, workshops, and custom curriculum development.
