Knauf Insulation is a leading United States manufacturer of thermal and acoustical fiberglass insulations for residential, commercial, industrial, marine, original equipment manufacturer and metal building applications. The company also owns a subsidiary, Knauf USA Polystyrene. Knauf Insulation is a member of the multibillion-dollar family of building materials companies owned by the Knauf family of Iphofen, Germany. Its products include building insulation: batts, rolls and blown insulation and specialty products, air handling; duct board, duct liner, duct wrap, rigid plenum liner; industrial/commercial; fiber glass pipe insulation, elevated temperature products, insulation board, duct wrap, pipe and tank insulation; metal building: blanket insulation; OEM products: blanket insulation, equipment liner, insulation board, acoustical insulations and uncured blanket. Knauf Insulation was formed in 1978, as Knauf Fiber Glass, when the Knauf family purchased an existing fiberglass production facility in Shelbyville, Ind.
