Kavya Puranik, MD - Ascension St Vincent Women's

Kavya Puranik, MD., joined the Newborn Hospitalist team in July 2018. Prior to coming to St. Vincent, Dr. Puranik spent two years as attending physician at Children's Express Care, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and as clinical instructor in pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, department of pediatrics. Dr. Puranik completed her residency at Harlem Hospital, Columbia University, New York. She received honors in physiology, pathology, pediatrics, and internal medicine and named Best Outgoing Student in Medical School. Dr. Puranik served as volunteer for the Polio Eradication Campaign in 2003 in Bellary, India. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters, likes to garden, read, and travel. She is fluent in Hindi, Kannada, and English.
