Francis W. Parker Montessori 56 is an educational institution that enrolls more than 340 students in kindergarten though grade eight. As a magnet school, it works for the physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual development of children, as well as provides instruction in music, art and Spanish. The school maintains a parent-teacher association and encourages their involvement in school activities, as well as organizes the Make It Take It workshops. Francis W. Parker Montessori 56 works in partnership with the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis to offer the Learn to Teach/Teach to Learn program. It maintains a media center that focuses on the promotion of project-based independent learning opportunities and research skills.
