Hucks
Founded in 1960, Martin Bayley Inc. began as a partnership between Bob Martin and Frank Bayley, opening Big John supermarkets in small towns across Southern Illinois and expanding into Kentucky and Tennessee. The company launched its first convenience store, Huck's, in 1974 and has since grown to operate over 130 locations across five states, employing more than 2,500 people.
In 2001, the company transitioned to a 100% employee-owned organization, fostering a strong sense of dedication among its workforce. Additionally, Huck's established the Karing for Kids Charitable Fund in 2005 to support underprivileged children, which has expanded its reach beyond the Christmas season to provide assistance throughout the year.
