Why Wabash: The Honeywell Foundation was created by one of Wabash's own, Mr. Mark C. Honeywell. Mr. Honeywell co-founded the very successful Honeywell, Inc Mr. Honeywell was a powerful, world-renown industrialist. Yet, he never forgot his roots and specifically, his hometown. He built the Honeywell Center -- a gathering place for the community as well as a venue to experience arts and culture. Mr. Honeywell's gift continues today as we annually welcome more than 150, 000 visitors to our one-of-a-kind facility! The Center: The Honeywell Foundation operates the Honeywell Center located in the historic district of Wabash, Indiana. The Center was built in the 1940's by Wabash native Mark C. Honeywell, co-founder of Honeywell, Inc This historic facility houses the 1, 500 seat Ford Theater, Carpenter Plaza, Clark Gallery, Garver Sculpture Plaza, the Olivette Room ( a partial replica of Mr. Honeywell's 1930s yacht ), and a 27 panel exhibit about Mark and Eugenia Honeywell. The Future: Through the incredible generosity of our donors the Honeywell Foundation has created an endowment that serves as one of the safeguards of our future. The Honeywell Foundation will continue the vision of Mr. Honeywell by providing a facility that promotes the spirit of community through the cultural exploration and the arts.
