The Indiana University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (IUMAA) is a newly established museum that combines the collections and expertise of the former Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology and the Mathers Museum of World Cultures. With over 5 million artifacts spanning various human experiences, the museum is currently closed for renovations to create new exhibits and learning labs that will provide visitors with a deeper understanding of cultural traditions, values, and beliefs from around the world.

Brandie Macdonald, an experienced nonprofit leader with a background in curating exhibits and building relationships with Indigenous peoples, has been appointed as the executive director of IUMAA. The museum's journey so far includes the announcement of its creation, the relocation of its collections, and ongoing renovations. The goal of IUMAA is to tell the story of humanity, from Indiana's First Peoples to contemporary Hoosiers, and to explore the connections between these stories and those of people worldwide.
