Deaconess Hospital is a 360-plus-bed, acute care facility that serves the residents of southern Indiana and Illinois, as well as western Kentucky. The hospital employs more than 3,000 people. Its 24-hour emergency department treats over 50,000 patients annually. Deaconess Hospital performs cardiovascular, orthopedic, urological and general surgeries. The hospital offers a variety of wellness programs for industrial and corporate clients. It provides vaccination and health screening and assessment programs. Deaconess Hospital also offers physical, speech and occupational therapies. In addition, the hospital provides pain management, spiritual care, bereavement counseling and family support programs. Its home-based medical care services include nutritional counseling and enterostomal therapy. Deaconess Hospital offers prenatal care and childbirth education programs for women.
