Fishback Creek Public Academy

Located in Indianapolis, Fishback Creek Public Academy operates under the Metropolitan School District. The school was founded in 1998 and offers education to students in grades kindergarten through five. Its facility features an open-access media center, a networked, computer lab, several mini computer labs and a distance learning room. Its classrooms are equipped with the student computers, television monitors and wireless access to the Internet. It also has a broadcast center that allows students to broadcast a morning news show. The school s curriculum includes various programs, such as the C.L.A.S.S. program, cooperative learning, thematic units, technology integration and teaming planning. It also offers other educational programs, including use of manipulatives, peer tutoring, differentiated instruction, literature-based and whole language. It also provides a variety of after school programs that include science club, chess club, tae kwon do, piano and guitar lessons, Spanish, Boys Scouts and Girls Scouts and drama.
