Fall Creek Gorge Nature Preserve, located in Williamsport, IN, is a stunning natural area that is currently closed to the public due to extensive ecological damage and safety concerns. With its steep walled canyons, tumbling waters, and unique potholes, Fall Creek Gorge is considered one of the most scenic areas in west central Indiana. The Nature Conservancy, in collaboration with NICHES Land Trust, is working diligently to protect and maintain the preserve's diverse flora and fauna, while also addressing the challenges posed by heavy visitation in the past.

This 163-acre preserve is home to a variety of plant and animal species, including white pines, oak-hickory woods, liverworts, lichens, mosses, ferns, and beautiful wildflowers. The sandstone cliffs and potholes add to the picturesque landscape of the gorge. Visitors are reminded to respect the closure and refrain from activities such as swimming, rock climbing, camping, and picnicking. Fall Creek Gorge Nature Preserve is a valuable natural gem that is being protected for future generations to enjoy.
