Eagle Creek Park offers visitors the chance to explore more than 3,000 acres of nature. Located a short distance from downtown Indianapolis, the park has hiking paths, picnic shelters, playgrounds, fishing areas, skiing paths and bark parks. In addition, it has a learning center, bird sanctuary and several educational facilities for families. The park's Eagle Creek Reservoir and Lilly Lake allow fishing, boating, sailing and canoeing.

Must see and must do at Eagle Creek Park
One of the most popular things to do at Eagle Creek Park is to fish. You can try to catch the biggest largemouth bass at the Eagle Creek Reservoir and Lilly Lake. You also want to visit the Eagle Creek Earth Discovery Center to see exhibits featuring local animals and plants. Picnics are another popular attraction at the park, and there are multiple picnic areas and shelters with tables.

Best and worst time to go to Eagle Creek Park
The park is open from dawn to dusk every day. One of the best times to visit the park is in March and April because the wildflowers are in bloom. One of the worst times to visit is in January because trails are usually covered in snow and the fishing areas are frozen.

Admission to Eagle Creek Park
Admission is in the $5 range per car or $15 range per bus for Marion County residents. Residents of other counties must pay extra, and it is usually in the range of an additional $1 to $2.

Wildlife at Eagle Creek Park
