Brian Huber, MD - Beacon Medical Group Mishawaka Primary Plus

Schedule Now at Beacon Medical Group Mishawaka Primary Plus About Dr. Huber A dose of humor with common sense is the approach Dr. Brian Huber takes as a primary care doctor. “You are the captain of your ship and I am the navigation system making sure you don’t hit an iceberg,” he says. “However, when you accidentally steer yourself into the iceberg I call the Coast Guard to come save your life.” His philosophy to practicing medicine is to be his patients’ guide. “I give you choices and educate you to make the best decisions you can to make your life as healthy as you want it to be.” Dr. Huber is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Family Medicine Residency program. He is interested in dermatologic procedures. "Beacon is giving me the opportunity to make something that will improve the primary care model for the community, patients, staff and myself. For that I will be forever grateful,” he says. His experience has taught him that he gets to positively impact his patients’ lives as much as they impact his. He wants everyone he cares for to know that he is no different than they are. “I am a normal guy that does normal things on a daily basis.” In his own words… Who is or was the most influential person/role models in your life? My wife. I would be a totally different person if she hadn’t been in my life for 27 years and counting. What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? Home construction. I loved every minute of it. I worked hard and learned skills that would be utilized throughout my entire life. What is your favorite food? Movie? My favorite food is the next new dish my family makes. Bad Words with Jason Batemen is my favorite movie. What was your best subject in school growing up? My favorite class was any one where I could “argue” with the teacher. If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why? Steve Rinella…so I could pick his brain about hunting, cooking wild game and conservation efforts. What are your hobbies, interests? Hunting, shooting, cooking, video games, cowboy boots What is something most people don’t know about you? I am “above average” at [the game] Fortnite.
Johnny Gerardot, MD - Beacon Medical Group Mishawaka Primary Plus

Johnny Gerardot, MD - Beacon Medical Group Mishawaka Primary Plus

Johnny Gerardot doesn’t consider himself the typical physician who “always dreamed of being a doctor.” In fact, he was pretty certain he was going to be a musician and an artist when he finished high school! Instead, he started down the path toward a career in academia and worked in a molecular virology research lab. But, as he explains, “I learned very quickly that it was not for me.” He ultimately wanted to be in a field where he could use science in a more direct and personal way. That, and a long family history of public service, led him to a career in medicine – and to Beacon. “I was fortunate enough to train at Memorial Hospital,” he says. “I’m excited to continue working in such a top-notch health system full of fantastic physicians and resources.” As a family physician, Dr. Gerardot’s philosophy centers around one key principle: helping patients live their best lives. He is passionate about preventive care and enjoys getting to know his patients and their families over the course of generations. “If they’ve taught me one thing,” he says, “it’s to always expect the unexpected. Patients are not textbooks or exam questions. They are living, breathing people with hopes, fears and passions. Health issues can arise in a myriad of complicated and untraditional ways.” Johnny’s goal is to meet his patients where they are, providing truly personalized care to help them take the next best step. “In my opinion, the patient-doctor relationship is a hallowed honor, and I hope to earn that trust from everyone in my care.” He adds, “I hope they see me as a kind, compassionate and tireless advocate for their health.”
