Since 1969, Cornerstone Services has been an advocate and provider of residential, behavioral health, training, employment, and other services for people with disabilities in the Will County, Illinois area and Kankakee County, Illinois area. Behavioral Health Services: The behavioral health department at Cornerstone provides an array of integrated services designed to assist in the recovery of symptoms of mental illness. Services include counseling, psychiatric consultation, case management, crisis intervention, community housing, psychosocial rehabilitation, and residential services. Living in the Community: Cornerstone offers a variety of residential alternatives to suit specific needs of adults with disabilities. The agency maintains homes throughout the area, but also serves a number of adults who rent from local landlords. Adults with disabilities who choose social and recreational activities during the day participate in the programs offered through the community services department. Exercise, arts and crafts, special events, social interaction groups, current events discussions, and day trips are available in this adult day activity program. Personal attention, combined with therapeutic and stimulating activities, challenge persons with disabilities and provide respite for athome family caregivers.
