The Kruse House Museum, an American Foursquare house built in 1917, is owned and maintained by the West Chicago Historical Society. It served as the home of Frederick Kruse, a ticket collector for the Chicago North Western Railway, and reflects the tastes and lifestyle of a typical middle-class American family between the two World Wars.
With its original furnishings preserved as they were during Celia Kruse's residency until 1975, the museum offers visitors an authentic glimpse into the past. The expansive garden, featuring original rock terraces and a lily pond, has been restored and is maintained by the West Chicago Garden Club.
