Waugh Foods, Inc

On April 1, 1948, Joseph A. Waugh Sr. founded Waugh Frozen Food Company. A warehouse was built in 1974 to accommodate the growth of the company. The next major change for the company was the addition of fresh dairy products that were added to the mix in 1990. This started the diversification of a frozen foods specialist to a broad line food service distributor. The company purchased the assets of M. Capodice & Sons of Bloomington, Ill., in 1995. This added fresh produce to the growing product mix. In 1996, the corporate name was changed to Waugh Foods, which followed with the addition of boxed beef, dry goods, paper goods and chemicals. Products include appetizers, bakery items, beef, beverages, breads, cakes, dairy, disposables, dry goods, ethnic foods, vegetables, fruit, health care items, noodles, paper goods and supplies. Waugh Foods is located in East Peoria, Ill.
