The mission of the Skokie Police Department is to protect the lives and property of the 60,000-plus citizens of Skokie, Ill. The nationally accredited department is engaged in preventing and repressing crime, detecting criminal activity, apprehending offenders, assisting those in danger, protecting individual constitutional rights and resolving conflict. The Skokie Police Department is divided into a crime prevention unit, investigations division, patrol division and K-9 unit. The department also has specialty units, such as the tactical mission team and a traffic unit.

Am assuming if it were a life-or-death matter, the Skokie Police would respond promptly. But if you call the non-emergency number for a loud music noise complaint on a Sunday night, forget it....
