Established in 1883, Children's Home + Aid is a social service agency that offers more than 70 programs in over 40 counties throughout Illinois. It serves nearly 40,000 children and families by helping them overcome several obstacles, such as poverty, abuse and neglect. The agency offers adoption, child and family counseling, early childhood care and education, foster care, parent support, residential care and youth services. Its clinical counseling services provide therapeutic intervention for children and parents involved in foster care and adoption situations. The agency s educational support services include in-home family counseling for school-level children who are at risk of absenteeism and suspension. It is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children. Located in Chicago, Children s Home + Aid is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and United Way.
