Transitions of Western Illinois

Transitions of Western Illinois is a nonprofit, charitable organization that provides community-based human services. Transitions provides an array of residential services for adults with developmental disabilities and those with mental illness. It operates three group homes that provide 24-hour care and supervision and two apartment complexes that provide independent living with supportive services. The organization s Transitions School provides educational services to children who are severely to profoundly mentally retarded and have physical handicaps. Other services include behavioral health services, including psychiatric evaluation and therapy; infant and toddler services, including developmental programming and parent education; vocational training, such as job placement services and work adjustment training; and life skills training, such as community integration activities and structured recreational and leisure activities. All of Transition s assisted living facilities are located in Quincy, Ill.
